Bright Promises selected as Semi-Finalist in Social Venture Partner competition

February 23, 2017

We are thrilled to announce that Bright Promises Foundation has been selected as a semi-finalist in the Social Venture Partners Chicago Fast Pitch competition. Fast Pitch is an intensive two-month training and mentoring program for innovative nonprofits that are effecting social change in Chicago.

Bright Promises Foundation is one of fifteen nonprofit leaders selected to participate based on our innovative approaches to creating social change and our potential for significant positive community impact. Director of Development Katherine Dreher will represent Bright Promises and will receive training and mentoring over the course of the next two months from SVP Chicago partners and supporters on how to tell Bright Promises' story in a powerful and compelling way.

The program culminates in a high-profile and high impact “Fast Pitch” competition – a rapid-fire presentation event during which the top eight finalists share the mission, vision and impact of their organization with the audience and judges – in just three minutes! Bright Promises Foundation is competing for $30,000 in prizes and pro bono services.

Katherine is excited to broadly share our vision of a stronger, safer Chicago for all children through this wonderful opportunity:

"Bright Promises and all of our partners are doing such critically important work, and now more than ever we need to create more awareness and attract greater resources to the communities and the organizations that are out there every day creating opportunities for Chicago's at-risk children and youth to thrive. I am honored to represent Bright Promises in this competition."

Bright Promises Foundation would like to offer special thanks to Uptake for hosting this year's competition in their amazing offices and to Kelly Standing for her inspiring words during the 2017 Fast Pitch kick-off event. We can win this! For more information about the Fast Pitch competition and how to attend, visit
